The composition of our Board and Executive team is designed to encompass diverse skills and experience to deliver value to shareholders through sustainable development and operations. 

Mr Coleman has over 39 years experience in the  upstream Energy Industry, spanning the Americas, Asia, Australia and Africa. He was previously Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Woodside Energy Limited, Australia's largest Oil and Gas Producer, between 2011 - 2021 and, prior to that held a number of executive roles in ExxonMobil Corporation, including Vice-President Asia Pacific, Vice-President Americas, and President ExxonMobil Indonesia.

Mr Coleman is currently a Non-Executive Director of NYSE listed SLB Limited (since 2021), and Chair of the Australia - Korea Foundation for the Australian Federal Government. He also supports venture capital companies in the New Energy sector through private investment and advisory services.

Mr Coleman is a member of the Monash University Industry Advisory Council, the Singapore International Advisory Panel on Energy, and was previously a director of the Business Council of Australia, Vice President of the Australian Japan Cooperation Council, a Commissioner of Football in Western Australia, and Board member of the Independent Petroleum Association of America.

He is currently an Adjunct Professor in strategy at the Business School of Western Australia, and has been awarded Doctoral Degrees (honoris causa) in Law (Monash University) and Engineering (Curtin University), and Alumnus of the year from Monash University.

He received the Order of Diplomatic Service Merit, Heungin Medal, from the Republic of Korea in 2022.

Mr Coleman holds a Bachelors Degree in Engineering, and an MBA. He has completed executive programs at Colombia University, and the Darden and Thunderbird Graduate Schools. He is a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Science, Technology and Engineering, and a Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Peter Coleman 

Mr Pérez de Solay is a qualified industrial engineer with a career spanning engineering, operational improvement, banking, finance and executive management. Prior to joining Allkem Limited, he was the President and CEO of Petroleos Sudamericanos, an oil and gas producer operating in Argentina and Colombia where he oversaw new operations and assets, and led major stakeholder initiatives. Prior to 2011, Mr Pérez de Solay was CFO and head of Corporate Development of GeoPark, an oil and gas operator in Argentina and Chile. He was a key member of the Geopark executive team that established its asset base and subsequently listed the company on the Alternative Investment Market (AIM). Mr Pérez de Solay joined Geopark from Citigroup where he had spent a decade in institutional, corporate and restructuring activities.

Martín Pérez de Solay

Mr Oris de Roa is a business leader with a history of developing and operating large enterprises within Argentina. His international career in 1970 with large trading company Continental Grain, working in the USA, Spain, Switzerland, Brazil and Argentina eventually rising through the ranks to be responsible for all of Latin America. As Chief Executive of S.A. San Miguel, Mr Oris de Roa was widely credited with turning the company into the largest and most profitable lemon products company in the world. He has also held the role of Director of Patagonia Gold Ltd and was appointed as Ambassador of Argentina to the United States serving during 2018 and 2019.

Fernando Oris de Roa

OAM Ms Heywood is an experienced ASX non-executive director, with broad general management experience gained through an international career in the mining sector, including 10 years with Rio Tinto. Her experience includes strategic marketing, business finance and compliance and she has led organisational restructures, disposals and acquisitions. Additionally, she has had significant experience in complex cross-cultural negotiations and international customer and stakeholder relationship management (including governments, communities and investment partners). 

Leanne Heywood

Mr Fitzpatrick has more than 47 years’ of technical mining industry experience in project and construction management, engineering, maintenance and plant operations, including acting as a project director for various major mining companies both locally and internationally. Mr Fitzpatrick has held numerous senior positions with leading engineering and mining companies such as Bechtel, BHP, Gold Fields and Newmont Mining Corporation. His experience includes the role of Director Global Projects Engineering and Construction for Newmont, Project Director on Newmont’s US$1.8 billion Batu Hijau project in Indonesia, Project Manager for Phase III of BHP’s Escondida copper project expansion and Principal Consultant for the US$7 billion Las Bambas project in Peru. 

Alan Fitzpatrick

Mr Turner is the leader of Fasken Martineau DuMoulin’s Global Mining Group, a full-service law firm with offices in Canada, the UK, South Africa and China. He has been involved in many of the leading corporate finance and merger and acquisition deals in the resources sector primarily through companies active in Africa, Latin America, Eastern Europe, Canada and Australia. Mr Turner has also successfully acted for the financial arranger or sponsor of several global major resource projects. He is also non-executive Chairman of GoGold Resources, a TSX-listed gold and silver mining company and a recipient of the Queen’s Golden Jubilee Medal for his services in the autism sector. 

John Turner

Ms Heredia has more than 31 years’ experience in the mining industry and is currently a senior partner of the leading Argentinian legal firm Allende & Brea where she heads the Energy and Natural Resources, ESG and Sustainability practice. She is an expert in mining law with extensive experience advising financial institutions and companies in complex mining transactions in Argentina and has repeatedly represented lenders in all mining project finance arranged in Argentina. The principal focus of Ms Heredia’s work is natural resources, infrastructure and environmental law and finance law related to these areas, assisting multiple companies established in Argentina. Ms Heredia has also done post graduate studies in Corporate Sustainability and is an active member of the International Bar Association, and is currently Vice Chair of SEERIL (Section on Energy, Environment, Natural Resources and Infrastructure Law). 

Florencia Heredia

Mr Seville is a mining geologist and geotechnical engineer with over 35 years’ experience in the resources sector including over 25 years’ as either Managing Director or Executive Director of various ASX, TSX or AIM listed companies. He is Allkem's founding Managing Director, and oversaw the Company’s IPO in 2007 and first production at the Olaroz Lithium Facility.  Mr Seville was also instrumental in negotiating the Toyota Tsusho Joint Venture in 2010 and obtaining favourable financing from Japan. Mr Seville is Chairperson of Agrimin Limited, an Australian fertiliser development company and a Non-Executive Director of ASX100 mining company OZ Minerals which is a copper-focused, global, modern mining company based in South Australia.

Richard Seville

Mr Cortes has nearly twenty years of international business experience across professional services, resources and chemical products industries gained in Australia, North and South America.
Mr Cortes commenced his career as a chartered accountant with PwC, working with large ASX companies for over a decade in audit, business performance and transaction support.
Mr Cortes later joined Allkem Limited and was most recently Chief of Sales and Marketing where he was responsible for leading and managing the sales function of the Company's lithium products.

Christian Cortes

Ms Freire has over 25 years’ experience in Human Resources, specialising in Talent Management, Organisational Culture and Change and Reward & Recognition. She has performed several managerial roles at Citibank over 12 years, was HR director at Johnson & Johnson for the Southern Cluster and was HR Business Partner for several product lines within Latin America. In 2015 she consulted for several organizations such as Adidas Argentina, Pluspetrol, Telecom, Johnson & Johnson and ITBA.

Ileana Freire

Mr Sanders is a senior corporate lawyer with over 25 years’ experience, having held legal and commercial roles in top tier law firms and international resource companies. He has a broad range of experience in corporate governance, international mergers and acquisitions, contract negotiation and implementing resource projects. Mr Sanders has previously worked for Herbert Smith Freehills, King and Wood Mallesons in Perth and Clifford Chance in London, as well as acting as senior in-house counsel at Woodside Energy and Hess Exploration Australia.

John Sanders

Mr Anthon is a lawyer with over 30 years’ experience in both corporate and commercial law practicing exclusively in the resource sector. He has worked both as a director and adviser to numerous resource companies and has extensive skills in project planning, acquisition and development, capital raising and corporate governance.

Rick Anthon

Karen Vizental is an experienced professional who has held senior leadership positions at various international companies, developing successful business campaigns and driving positive change and sustainable growth for businesses, brands and partners. Ms Vizental was previously VP Corporate Affairs and Sustainable Business for Unilever Latam and Soco and member of the Global Public Affairs Board, where she worked for six years prior to joining Allkem. Prior to that Ms Vizental was Communications Director for the Consumer Healthcare business in Latin America and Brazil and launched her own consultancy firm, Grupa PR, providing Institutional Affairs and Communications services to several international companies.

Karen Vizental

Mr Barbier has over 25 years of experience in leading resources and industrial MNCs, holding senior management positions in Europe, Australia and Asia. Mr Barbier has previously headed global sales and marketing at Iluka Resources (mineral sands) and was previously in charge of marketing, sales and communication at Sibelco Asia (industrial minerals), after having worked in Europe, Australia and Asia for Rio Tinto Alcan in a variety of commercial, financial control and general management positions. 

Christian Barbier

Mr Porta is qualified chemical engineer with over 30 years’ experience in the chemicals industry, specialising in process engineering, production, process control and quality performance. Mr Porta moved into site management and operations Director roles over his 28 year tenure at the Dow Chemical Company. From 2015 he held the role of General Manager and President of Cabot Corporation in Argentina and from 2019 was Chief Operating Officer at Orocobre Limited. This wide variety of roles at industry leading international companies has provided experience not only in Argentina, but also Brazil and Canada.

Hersen Porta

chnMr. Connolly has over 22 years of mining and metals industry experience, having held executive and senior leadership roles with a number of mining majors.
He has a broad range of experience of the various phases of project leadership, including resource development and conceptual design, (pre)feasibility studies, project execution and operations.
Before joining Allkem, he served as Head of Projects and Capital Allocation for Vale Base Metals.
Prior to that, he held the position of VP Operations and Technical Excellence and VP Project Evaluations with Barrick Gold.
James holds a degree of Chemical Engineering obtained at the University of Cape Town in South Africa.


James Connolly 

Mr Couture is a qualified engineer with over 25 years of mining experience in Canada, specialising in operations in Northern Quebec where he worked for over a decade, including the James Bay territory. Previous roles include Vice President and General Manager of Ausenco and Project Manager of SNC-Lavalin in Montreal where he gained significant project execution experience. Mr Couture has also managed projects in various commodities and regions and has held leadership roles at Agnico-Eagle Mines and BHP. 

Denis Couture

Mr Barber commenced his career as a geologist with Mt Isa Mines for 7 years. He later joined Perpetual Investments in Sydney, Australia as a Resources Analyst which was the start of over 11 years in the funds management industry. Mr Barber also worked with Queensland Investment Corporation (QIC) in Brisbane where he covered a wide variety of industrial and resources companies. Since 2008, Mr Barber has utilised his extensive experience in the equity markets combined with a solid technical base to provide investor relations and business development services to a variety of companies including Arrow Energy, Bow Energy, Stanmore Coal.

Andrew Barber

Mr Franklyn is a qualified engineer with over 20 years’ operational experience in world class mining companies and operations. With a background in process engineering he has held senior roles spanning engineering, production and maintenance with BHP and Newcrest across Nickel, Iron Ore, Gold and Copper with exposure throughout the value chain from mining to refining.  Mr Franklyn was previously Corporate Director – Health, Safety and Security for Allkem. 

Liam Franklyn

Dr. Edwardes is a senior executive with over 40 years of distinguished service in blue ribbon international energy and resources companies, on both the operator and contractor side. His experience spans the full breadth of project delivery and operations in oil & gas, mining, power and infrastructure. His most recent roles were as Executive Vice President Development at Woodside from 2012 to 2019, and Managing Director, US & Latin America at Worley from 2008 to 2012. Prior to joining Worley in 2002, Robert spent 25 years with ExxonMobil in several different roles, ultimately becoming Project Manager of the Kizomba FPSO development, offshore Angola, from 1997 to 2002.
